Announcements from Bernie

Hi Everyone! Your executive board has been busy coming up with ideas and ways to keep WABA moving.

At our recent breakfast meeting, we came up with some ideas for helping the Winterport Music Festival and beefing up the children's area.

Here's what we came up with (thanks for keeping the minutes Ann!)

Posssible kids games for 2011:
Ninja Golf
Rock Climbing
Velcro Wall
Fishing (fish with magnets)
Bean Toss
Maze - Harry Potter theme ?
Golf Games
Cut Outs - Put Face in it for Pictures
Amber Alert Table - maybe by Masons?
Character Costume to walk around (but not barney)

Try to get organizations or businesses to sponsor each game. They should have a sign saying that they are sponsoring it. They would also be responsible for manning that game. Also put on website who is sponsoring what.

Stephanie did reserve us the bounce house and dunk tank again. We should try to get more teachers involved in dunk tank. She will also be loaning us the generator again.

Also suggested to get the kids involved (while school is still in session) to make some of these games as a community project.

It was questioned if we were going to hold to the same pricing as last year which we thought was $5. This was not definitely decided on. It may depend upon how many other games we are able to have.

Also undecided how to "tag" the kids. Last year we did not use tickets due to some kids being too young to participate. We instead used permanent marker. Possibly this year use a non-permanent stamp?

Our next meeting will be held at the Winterport House of Pizza at 7:00 am on Wednesday April 13. We'll be discussing these ideas (plus PLEASE bring your own!).

We'll also be discussing the upcoming Farmer's Market (it'll be here
SOON!) and other ideas to promote our "Shop Local" philosophy.

Please don't be just a "paper" member - join us and help WABA help YOU grow your business in 2011.

See you SOON!
Bernie
